ABSTRACT
Garlic is often basal rot disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cepae (FOCe) easily spread by seed. Therefore, it was necessary to
researched on clustering visual symptoms of garlic through healthy seed testing
and varieties testing. This study aimed to assess the visual symptoms
relationship with the percentage of infection FOCe seed-borne. The research was
conducted in three stages of testing with no section, two parts of section, and
four parts section using completely randomized design. Analyses were performed
after the disease intensity obtained by the percentage of the number of seeds
identified as being diseased by overall seeds. The results showed that visual
symptoms was related to the percentage of infected seed garlic by FOCe, however
a symptomatic seeds are still infected. The pathogen on seed-borne has
significant potential symptoms seen by varieties tested. Tests are done by cut
the seed to increase the effectiveness of the detection of seed-borne FOCe.
